Where do we find Jesus in the Book of Daniel?

Daniel Week 7 Personal Study Blog
Based on Sunday, October 23, message by Greg Bondurant

As a follower of Jesus, I have heard many times that Jesus can be found throughout the bible. He’s like a thread that connects the old and new testaments together. So, where do we find Jesus in Daniel?

The term Son of Man is the primary term Jesus uses when describing himself. It is a title of humanity, humility, deity, and fulfilled prophecy, which we see in Daniel 7.

First off, here’s a link to the got questions.org website that describes in detail the phrase “Son of Man.”

Read Daniel Chapter 7 from start to finish.

Greg does a great job describing the imagery of Daniel 7 and the following chapters. Listen to his message again to be reminded of the details.

Questions for you to explore:

  1. Let’s dive deep into how you see Jesus. Who is Jesus to you in your own life? Write those thoughts out.

  2. In Daniel 7:14, we read that the “Son of Man” was given authority, glory, and sovereign power. Thinking about your relationship with Jesus, what authority have you given Jesus? How do you glorify Him? How do you recognize his power?

  3. Vs. 14 goes on to describe his dominion and his kingdom. When you think about Jesus’ domain and his Kingdom both today and in the future, how do his authority and power awe you?

  4. What happens in your life that takes your eyes off Jesus, and you lose sight of who he is? How do you put your eyes back on him?

Prayer:

  • Give Jesus praise for authority, glory, and power.

  • Ask Jesus to be so real in your life that your eyes see him clearly every day.

  • Ask the holy spirit to guide you every day.
