When God brings judgment on one person, it often leads to suffering for other people.

Based on the
September 11 message by Greg Bondurant

Does it trouble you that God allows suffering?

Answer the question for yourself. Does it trouble you that God allows suffering to happen?

Watch this video as an overview of the book of Daniel. It always helps to understand God’s direction when we understand the context.

This video is from RightNow Media, if you don’t have a login to RightNow Media, click here to create a free account, then watch go back and click the link above to watch the Bible Project Video on reading Daniel.

Read Daniel 1 and 2.

Answer these questions . . .

  1. Has your answer to the above question changed when we realize that God is in control of Daniel and his friends? Even though they suffered.

  2. Describe the faith of Daniel, Meshack, Shadrack, and Abednigo. What inspires you about how they lived as such young men?

  3. Greg shared with us on 9/11/22 Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream that he wanted to be shared and interpreted without him revealing anything. In chapter 2, you see the whole account. How did Daniel’s faith in God make this interpretation possible? What did the King do for Daniel and his friends on account of this interpretation? How did this help Daniel and his friends influence Babylon for God?

Prayer: Take time to pray that your faith can be as bold as Daniel’s so your life can change the lives of others and bring glory to God.

Pray that you can see God in times of suffering and doubt so that you can stand firm.
