New Shoes!
And without faith it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. 8 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.
Hebrews 11:6&8
Change often comes with uneasy feelings, uncomfortable stress, uncertainty, and sometimes sadness. But, without change, we become satisfied with the “status quo,” which is Latin for “the state in which.” Some have modified the meaning to “the mess we are in.”
God often moves His Church past the status quo into a much brighter future – and out of our mess! As the culture around us changes, we also must change to be relevant, attractive. Change is a sign of growth!
But remember, God never changes! Let’s change while keeping our eyes on the LORD.
I look forward to change, but I must admit, I am much more comfortable in my favorite pair of shoes than that stiff new pair that needs to be broken in! Alas, it’s time to leave those old shoes.
Here’s to new shoes!
General
The “missions wall” in the café is installed along with signage above our WCCares collection carts. The “W” medallion is on all our main entrance doors. The 50’ logo is on the north wall of the lobby. All these make such a difference!
Worship Center Update
The concrete for the stage extension is in, and the large video wall structure is up and sheeted with plywood. The video screen will cover about 90% of this wall. The baptistry is being plumbed, and surrounding walls for changing rooms are being constructed.
Worship chairs have been ordered; we anticipate they will be delivered in September.
WCCares Update
The drywall has been installed, and “mudding” is taking place. The main garage door opening has been created. Paint is next!
Office Suite Update
The drywall work is complete, and the first coats of paint have been completed. The suspended ceiling grid is installed, and light fixtures are being installed. The windows are in place and sealed. The exterior damage from larger windows has been repaired, and the synthetic stucco has been updated.
Without the pledges and gifts from so many people, these critical projects and improvements would not happen. Giving from abundance and sacrifice have made this all possible. We simply would not be doing all this work without the financial gifts from so many. Words cannot express our gratitude. Thanks for giving for Kingdom purposes. May God be glorified!
Pledge Update:
Total Pledged: $2,561,114.22
Total Given: $1,392,927.56
As of 7/6/23
