A Plan Comes Together!

Some of us remember Terry Wuske, the Westerville Christian Church pastor in the early 1980s. One of his favorite phrases was, “I love it when a plan comes together.” We have been experiencing such a plan for over two years now and are nearing the end of the journey.

While I can’t predict the exact completion date (too many hands are involved), I can tell you it will be soon. I love it when a plan comes together!

Thanks be to God for all the wonderful changes taking place! Thank you for giving to this effort and being patient while our building is changing. Many, many pledges were made nearly two years ago. Numerous gifts towards these pledges have been given and continue to come in:

Pledge Update:

Total Pledged: $2,561,114.22

Total Given: $1,465,432.44

These projects are so important to how we feel about our space and how the community views us. God is glorified as people sacrifice so the Gospel message to be communicated clearly. All our projects called the Fearless Campaign, will help us speak of the reassuring hope that is ours and for everyone who claims Christ as Savior!

General

We experienced quite a change in the look and feel of the lobby. The final steps include a large mural on the Worship Center east exterior wall and across from the glass block wall of the playland, which will also feature our mission statement. In addition to the recently installed check-in stations for WCKids, the final artwork is complete for the hallways and will be installed soon. Look at the exterior of the building – what a change! The exterior painting is complete, and soon the canopy will be reinstalled with a new covering. We are also in the final steps with the City of Westerville for a new entrance sign and additional landscaping.

Worship Center Update

The HVAC systems, video wall electric, baptistery plumbing, and changing room drywall are installed. New worship chairs are expected to arrive in early October. The Video Broadcast room just behind the sound booth is in the final stages of construction, with paint being completed and installing flooring soon.

WCCares Update

This space is nearing completion! All drywall and painting are complete, and the LVT flooring is installed. The main garage door opening now has a required fire shutter, and the glass garage door will soon be installed. Electric is installed, and lighting fixtures will be installed soon. Furnishings are ordered… while most have arrived, we expect the custom work tables and accompanying seating to arrive soon. We love WCCares!

Office Suite Update

Painting is completed, and the flooring is installed, as well as the lighting.  HVAC replacement and upgrades are also complete.  Existing casework is being repaired and freshly painted. We will soon receive two windows specially made for fire protection to be installed in offices near adjoining buildings. Installation of new desks, tables, chairs, and furniture is planned for the first week of September. Final arrangements with our counselor are being formed, which will be a much-needed addition to our ministry!

Finally, if you have not had the opportunity to participate in the Fearless Campaign, it’s not too late, as our giving campaign lasts through the end of 2024. If you would like to make a pledge, you may do so by contacting Lisa Crill at lisa@wcchurch.life.

And without faith it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. 8 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.
